1/13/2011 Lufkin Police Report

01-12-2011     Theft               900 Block South Chestnut Street

On Wednesday, January 13, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 8:00 PM that date an unidentified actor(s) stole property from within the bed of the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 900 block of South Chestnut Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) removed from the open bed area of the vehicle a Chicago Electric brand motorized pipe snake, air conditioning service gauges, and a voltage meter.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

01-12-2011     Theft               300 Block Shepherd Avenue

On Wednesday, January 13, 2011, a complainant appeared at Lufkin Police Department and reported that on October 12, 2010, somewhere in Lufkin, an unidentified actor(s) stole an Apple brand iPad tablet computer from within the complainant's purse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she is a salesperson and on October 12, 2010 she visited eight businesses, with her iPad in her purse, but later that date she realized that the iPad was missing from her purse.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she waited three months to report the theft to law enforcement because she was not aware that her employer required that she report incidents of theft.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

01-12-2011     Criminal Mischief       1200 Block Andrews Avenue

On Wednesday, January 13, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 8:00 AM on January 11, 2011, and 3:00 PM on January 12, 2011 an unidentified actor(s) damaged the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1200 block of Andrews Avenue in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) broke one of the vehicle's windows by shooting it with a BB Gun.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 **                    Detective JB Smith, Lufkin Police Department Public Information Officer, wishes to remind citizens that City of Lufkin Code of Ordinances §130.05 states that it is a Class C Misdemeanor offense, punishable by fine of up to $500, "for any person to discharge within the city any firearms including air rifles, air guns, or BB Guns".

On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an unidentified actor(s) fraudulently utilized the complainant's debit card information for multiple purchases at a Target store located in Mountain View, California.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the unauthorized transactions debited several hundred dollars from their bank account, that they are in possession of their debit card, and that they did not authorize the charges.  The report stated that this was the second of two fraud incidents reported this date involving a Lufkin-area complainant's debit card information being fraudulently utilized at this Mountain View, California, and that the incidents were referred for further investigation.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an unidentified actor(s) fraudulently utilized the complainant's debit card information for multiple purchases at Walmart stores located in Harvey, Louisiana and in Boutte, Louisiana.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the unauthorized transactions debited several hundred dollars from their bank account, that they are in possession of their debit card, and that they did not authorize the charges.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

 01-12-2011     Theft/B           900 Block North Timberland Drive

On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that on January 08, 2011 a known suspect stole the complainant's stole property from within the complainant's vehicle.  According to the report, the complainant stated that his adult son borrowed the complainant's vehicle and then pawned an Ibanez brand electric guitar that the complainant left in the vehicle.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
