ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – It was a simple enough problem, an Angelina County man needed to get rid of some trees.
Now one East Texan's dilemma is keeping dozens warm Thursday night.
The man clearing his land is letting local volunteer Donn Turner load-up the timber.
The firewood is being delivered to seniors in need of warmth.
As the temperature dropped, Turner and the landowner met-up and decided to work together to help others.
"Donn said he needed some firewood for some people that didn't have any, the elderly people and we just needed to get rid of a few trees and it was just a way to help," said Blast Away Cleaning Supplies Owner Curtis Gray.
If you would like to help out a fellow East Texan, drop-off blankets and firewood at the National Guard Armory on Tulane Drive in Lufkin.
Please don't bring any space heaters.
You can stop by Monday through Friday.
