NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – Gail Green's service began with senate staff work in 1991.
She has been serving East Texans ever since, working in the Tyler office as the regional director.
Green is now retiring to enjoy time with her family.
Tuesday the Hotel Fredonia hosted a reception in her honor.
"The people of East Texas are just the best people to work with. You know you can enter a room, and there's always a smile for you. They're happy to work with you to help me when I visit with the communities to point out what the needs are," said Green.
Green was the administrative secretary for the state director in former Senator Phil Gramm's office until he retired in 2002.
When Senator Cornyn was elected, he asked her to stay-on in the Tyler office.
