Power restored to 1,500 in Nacogdoches County after outage

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - About 1,500 homes were without power in Nacogdoches County Friday evening.

An East Texas Electric Co-op spokesperson said crews worked to restore power after a transmission line failed. Customers in Nacogdoches, Garrison, and Central Heights began reporting outages before 8 p.m. on Friday. Power was restored to most of the homes and businesses by 10 o'clock.

The outage interrupted homecoming activities for Central Heights High School. School administrators were forced to reschedule boys and girls basketball games against San Augustine High School. Those games will now be played on Saturday. At 6 p.m. the girls will tip off, followed by the boys match up. The Central Heights High School homecoming dance has been moved to 9 p.m. Saturday night.
