Nacogdoches man struck by vehicle, now in critical condition

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – According to police reports, a man was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Nacogdoches.

Jose Ramirez, 48, of Nacogdoches was walking across South East Stallings Drive in front of Chicken Express at 9:40 pm when a he was struck by a white midsize car.

A witness stated the vehicle's windshield was broken out, and that the vehicle spun through the parking lot of Chicken Express and then headed east on the loop.

According to Sgt. Mack McKee with the Nacogdoches Police Department, Ramirez was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital where he underwent surgery. He remains in critical condition and authorities are unable to locate next of kin at this time.
