LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Put the paper and pencils away. Friday, East Texas kids had one thing on their mind: Snow!
"He was very excited when he was told he didn't have to school this morning>
Ever since, Lufkin mom Peggy Wells says her kids have been go, go, go.
"It's hard to explain to them that we have to go in to get warm."
And, who needs warmth on a day like this?
The adrenaline of romping in the snow will make-do.
Here in south Lufkin, the white stuff is a little harder to find.
"We have been raking snow off our vehicles because there's more snow on the car than there is on the ground," Wells said.
It doesn't matter where the Wells' kids get their snow, as long as they can scoop it, throw it or eat it.
Yep, it tastes just fine!
Ashlynn seems to like it.
Every minute in the snow counts.
"We're trying to enjoy the day because we don't get them very often," Wells said.
And even though the snow is already starting to melt it's not keeping these kids from continuing to play in it.
"I love the cold weather I love to see snow I don't like to drive in it," Wells said. "So as long as I get to be home when it snows I'm OK with that."
Home is where the wells family plans to stay until What little is left, goes away.
