LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) – A man claims he was shot at by a masked man.  Lufkin Police are now investigating a possible aggravated assault.

The man tells police he knocked on the door at his friend's house, and no one answered.  He thought he heard them outside in the back, so he went around to look for them.

It was behind the house, that he was allegedly confronted by a man wearing a ski mask, and holding a gun.  According to LPD's Corporal Trent Sobolewski, the victim stated the masked man started shooting at him.

He told police that he put his hands up in a defensive position and ran away, getting back into his truck.  That's where he realized he had been shot in the hand.  Sobolewski says he drove to a friend-of-a-friend who was in nursing, to get medical treatment.  They wrapped up his hand, but ended up going to the hospital anyway since it didn't stop hurting or bleeding.

The report says he was treated and released.  Sobolewski says no arrests have been made.
