Prescribed burns announced for two national forests in East Texas

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Officials with the U.S. Forest Service have issued a prescribed burn advisory for area in the Davy Crockett and Angelina National Forests.

The Davy Crockett will be attempting to conduct A prescribed burn in the Davy Crockett National Forest in Houston county is scheduled on Tuesday.  The burn will be about 200 acres and will be along FM 227 and Forest service road 526.   The burn is about 2 miles south of Hwy 21 and should not cause any smoke issues to the road ways.

Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Angelina/Sabine Ranger District have advised two prescribed burns on Tuesday with the first burn involving approximately 4800 acres located east of Bingham Rd, north of Hwy 63 & west of Plum Ridge Rd in Angelina Co.  

The second burn will involve approximately 1100 acres located west of FM 2109 and east of Deadman Rd. in Angelina Co.  Winds are predicted out of the southeast.
