LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - An 87-year-old Lufkin attorney suffered injuries Monday night when a robber attacked him at his law office.
According to the police report, Edward McFarland was leaving his office, located on the 300 block of Groesbeck Avenue, when a man he did not know knocked him to the ground and stole his wallet.
McFarland said in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon that he had just been released from the hospital, where he was treated for a re-aggravated back injury and skinned elbows.
"I'm a cancer survivor and I've had a pacemaker for 20 years," McFarland said. "I'll survive this long enough to find that son-of-a-gun and I'll have a heart-to-heart with him."
McFarland said he was hopeful police had enough information to arrest the suspect.
McFarland works as a criminal attorney. The Angelina County Courthouse recently honored him for 60 years of practicing law.
