BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) - NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Commissioner's Court voted Tuesday to close the garbage collection sites as a cost-cutting measure.
The closure takes effect April 1.
According to commissioners, it cost $23,000 a year to run the four collection sites.
Commissioners also approved writing a letter to the state Legislature asking to be able to move justices of the peace into a consolidated area, also to cut costs.
If the move is approved, it does not necessarily mean the change will be made. Commissioners just want to have the ability in case it is needed.
