2/10/2011 Lufkin Police Report

02-09-2011     Assault            900 Block O'Quinn Avenue

At approximately 8:30 PM on Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect assaulted the complainant at their shared residence, located in the 900 block of O'Quinn Avenue in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that during an argument over dog food her husband pushed her to the floor and used his fist to strike her face, causing injury to her lip, and then threatened to shoot her with a pellet gun.  The report stated that the suspect fled the area when the complainant ran to a neighbor's residence to contact law enforcement, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Burglary/Habitation     600 Block Dogwood Trail

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM that date an unidentified actor(s) attempted to burglarize her residence, located in the 600 block of Dogwood Trail in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) removed a screen from one of the residence's windows and damage a doorknob of one of the residence's entry doors but entry into the residence was not made.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she recently found a window within the residence unlocked after a friend of her son visited the residence but does not know if that person is involved in the attempted burglary, or not.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Theft               500 Block Hemlock Street

At approximately 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 6:00 PM that date unidentified suspects stole property from outside of the complainant's residence, located in the 500 block of Hemlock Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that a neighbor alerted him that two suspects in a small red vehicle took property from the carport area of the complainant's residence and drove away from the area.  According to the report, the complainant found that the suspects stole a Weedeater brand electric leaf blower, a Skill brand string trimmer, and two, twelve-inch Boss brand audio speakers.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Arrest             2300 Block East Lufkin Avenue

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, at Angelina County Jail, a Lufkin Police Department officer served four arrest warrants for Rakeem Lavon Rhodes (Black / Male / 17 / Lufkin) after Mr. Rhodes had been arrested by a Lufkin ISD Police Department officer; one warrant for the Second Degree Felony offense of Burglary of a Habitation, one warrant for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Failure to Identify, and two warrants for the Class B Misdemeanor offense of Evading Arrest or Detention.  According to the report, the burglary warrant was issued following an investigation into a July 30, 2010 burglary of a residence located in the 1200 block of Moss Drive in Lufkin.  Lufkin Police Department officers encountered Mr. Rhodes several times following the burglary but had not yet identified him as the actor in the burglary; twice Mr. Rhodes fled on-foot from the officers and once provided the officers a false name and date of birth.  During an August 04, 2010 foot pursuits of Mr. Rhodes, an officer recovered a backpack discarded by Mr. Rhodes, and within the backpack found a laptop computer stolen during the July 30, 2010 burglary.  Once Mr. Rhodes true identity was determined, witnesses from the burglary investigation identified him from photographs, and arrest warrants were obtained.  Rakeem Lavon Rhodes was booked into Angelina County Jail for the outstanding arrest warrants.

02-09-2011     Credit Card Abuse     900 Block Camp Street

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that a known suspect fraudulently utilized the complainant's debit card at Lufkin-area businesses.  According to the report, the complainant stated they allowed the suspect to utilize the complainant's debit card to withdraw a set amount of money from the complainant's bank account but the suspect kept the card and used it for multiple transactions.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Theft               300 Block Davis Street

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between February 06, 2011 and February 07, 2011 an unidentified actor(s) stole property from a storage lot located in the 300 block of Davis Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated the actor(s) stole blue, Circle J brand sixteen-foot, bumper-pull trailer loaded with a yellow, John Deere brand skid steer with a concrete breaker attachment.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Forgery           1900 Block West Frank Avenue

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that an unidentified actor(s) fraudulently utilized the complainant's debit card at Lufkin-area businesses.  According to the report, the complainant stated they lost their wallet at an unknown location and were alerted by their bank that the lost debit card had been used to debit funds from the complainant's bank account.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

02-09-2011     Burglary/Vehicle     1200 Block East Denman Avenue

On Wednesday, February 09, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 9:30 PM on February 08, 2011 and 7:30 AM on February 09, 2011 an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Stephens Court apartment complex, located in the 1200 block of East Denman Avenue in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated the actor(s) forced entry into the vehicle by damaging one of the vehicle's windows and removed from within the vehicle a Garmin brand GPS receiver and a Pioneer brand car radio.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
