Angelina College's baseball and softball teams will host three full days of action at Roadrunner Complex beginning with the Roadrunner baseball team's three-team tournament scheduled for Friday and Saturday and concluding with the Lady Roadrunners' mini-tournament on Sunday. A total of eight baseball and softball teams will hit Lufkin for the weekend, with several of those teams coming from the north where weather has wreaked havoc on their home diamonds.
On Friday, the Roadrunners will host North Central Texas at noon, followed by North Central vs. Galveston at 2:45 p.m. and AC vs. Galveston at 5:30 p.m.
Those three teams will follow the same schedule on Saturday.
The Roadrunners (3-1) are coming off last Saturday's sweep of No. 2 San Jacinto College and Monday's split with Temple College.
The Lady Roadrunner softball team was supposed to have been in Ft. Worth for the Cowtown Classic this weekend, but the week's worth of wintry weather shut down the tournament. Instead, head coach Chrystal Vega put together what she's calling her "Last Minute Scramble", a two-day tournament scheduled to start on Saturday and continue through Sunday.
Saturday's action will feature Trinity Valley College facing Lamar-Port Arthur College at 10 a.m., followed by Lamar-PA against Labette (KS) College at noon, Trinity Valley vs. Labette at 2 p.m., and AC vs. Lon Morris at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
