LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Firefighters worked the early morning hours Friday at putting out a blaze that destroyed a vacant house in Lufkin.

Firefighters were called to the scene around midnight, at 729 Humason Ave.

Assistant Fire Marshal Steve McCool said the fire started in the attic and destroyed the roof. He considered the house a total loss.

The house is a rental house which nobody was living in, McCool said.

While investigators continue to determine an exact cause, McCool said it does not appear to be intentional.
