Jazz artist's Grammy win over Justin Bieber make some Bieber fans furious

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Lady Antebellum is the top winner in this year's Grammy Awards. The country trio has won the song and record of the year trophies for "Need You Now."

There was also a surprise at Sunday night's ceremony in Los Angeles. Jazz singer Esperanza Spalding picked up the coveted best new artist Grammy, disappointing Justin Bieber fans.

Spalding's name left Pop fans scratching their heads and Jazz fans wondering how an artist who's been around since 2006 was new. Some Bieber believers went ballistic. If you happened to go on Wikipedia to find out, Bieber fans had edited her entry noting she won the Grammy "by stealing it from Justin Bieber." "GO DIE IN A HOLE," a Bieber fan shouted. All caps. "WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?

Turns out the 26 year old jazz artist from Portland, Oregon is an accomplished musician. A dazzling former child prodigy who taught herself to play violin at age 4. She has performed at the White House more than once.

The jazz bassist and singer sold a fraction of Bieber's music but became the first jazz artist to ever win the category. But the fans of that young Canadian are less than impressed.
