NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Kentucky man traveling through East Texas on Monday found himself behind bars after a state trooper said he found 113 pounds of marijuana and 950 hydrocodone pills in his horse trailer.

Thomas A. Porter, 35, of Pleasureville, Ky., is charged with possession of a controlled substance, enhanced to a first-degree felony for more than 200 grams, and possession of marijuana, enhanced to a second-degree felony for more than 50 pounds.

Trooper Jay Stone said he pulled Porter over for speeding at about 3:30 p.m. on U.S. 59, just north of Nacogdoches. Stone said he "observed criminal indicators."

After further questioning, Porter offered to let Stone search his vehicle and trailer, Stone said. Stone said he found the drugs in a false compartment in a storage area in the trailer.
