ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was injured Wednesday afternoon after driving into a creek in the Pollok area.

Trooper Travis Richnow said Kevin Wayne Budro, 25, was driving a Dodge pickup, around 2:30 p.m., southbound on U.S. 69 and ran off the road and into a ditch, just south of old Clemsa lumberyard. Why he drove off the road is under investigation, Richnow said.

Budro works for Lufkin Fasteners and was driving a work vehicle back from Elkhart. He serves as a Central Volunteer firefighter.

Central VFD and Lufkin EMS responded to the scene.

A tow truck pulled the pickup out of the creek.

Budro was taken to a Lufkin hospital to be treated for lower back pain.
