LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was taken to the hospital with an ankle injury after rear-ending another vehicle Friday morning on the intersection of Lotus Lane and Loop 287.

Lufkin Police Officer Toby Stanaland said Alan Forsythe, 28, of Lufkin, was driving a Pontiac Sunfire south on the loop when he did not stop at the Lotus Lane intersection rear-ended a Yukon, driven by Marvin Johnson, 58, of Diboll, around 9:45 a.m.

Someone in a private vehicle took Forsythe to a Lufkin hospital to be treated for a severe ankle injury. Stanaland said he is cited for failure to control speed.
