NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – Nacogdoches investigators are looking into a case of injury to the elderly that resulted in the arrest of 43-year old Debra Brimer Auer.

Auer allegedly hit a 76-year old man with a book and backscratcher.  The elderly man, identified as Bobby Morton, had injuries to his head and hand, according to investigators.  He refused medical transport, however, the EMS was called to the scene to bandage his hand.

Constable J. Bridges and Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Deputy J. Sparks responded to a 9-1-1 call from a residence on County Road 466.  When they arrived, Aura was seen striking Morton on the head with a beer can. Morton told officers that Auer had become intoxicated and gotten mad at him and began assaulting him.

Investigators say the victim and suspect are known to each other and had reportedly been drinking when the incident occurred.
