POLLOK, TX (KTRE) - Angelina County Sheriff's deputies say a woman suffering from mental health issues told them she fired at "a man coming out of the air conditioning unit who shot at her first."

As a precaution, the woman was taken from the house in handcuffs to a deputy's car for questioning.  Several guns were lined up against the doorway of the house and officers appear to be confiscating those weapons.

Lufkin paramedics and a fire truck responded to the call as well, however, both left the scene without incident shortly after arrival.  Central schools were placed on lockdown for a short period of time as a precaution.

The woman's identity is not being released.  Lt. Pete Cooper said she would be taken to the Burke Center, which provides a variety of behavioral healthcare services to people with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use issues, for evaluation and help.

Lt. Cooper said no one was injured in the incident which occurred at 9106 Highway 69 North in Pollok.
