LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) - The Polk County Sheriff's Office has arrested a second man in connection to the December shooting death of a Polk County woman.

John Wesley McDuffie, 18, of Livingston, is charged with tampering with physical evidence.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit signed on Feb. 10, McDuffie picked up Cordell Renard Green, 22, of Alto, and helped him get rid of the gun Green used to kill Heather Dorris. McDuffie then took Green to Houston, after learning he had killed her, according to the affidavit.

McDuffie turned himself in to the sheriff's office on Feb. 17.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit for Green, investigators say Green confessed to witnesses that he killed Dorris by shooting her numerous times in December and witnesses saw Green get into Dorris' vehicle the morning of her death.
