GARRISON, TX (KTRE) - NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Garrison woman accused of stealing nearly $150,000 from her elderly employers over the past five years.

Terry Lynn Batson, 47, is charged with first-degree theft.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the sheriff's office was contacted on Feb. 10 in reference to a report of theft by check. The man who made the report held power of attorney for his 91-year-old father and his 101-year old uncle. He said he found that Batson, the caretaker of both, had been taking money from each of their accounts, as well as the family partnership bank account, for a total of $149,606.97.

The complainant later provided detailed records of all three accounts showing transactions he believed to be made by Batson that had nothing to do with the care of his uncle or father or their business.

Batson was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on Tuesday. She bonded out for $20,000.
