3/2/2011 Lufkin Police Report

03-02-2011     Criminal Mischief     3500 Block South First Street

On Wednesday, March 02, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM that date an unidentified actor(s) damaged the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked at Angelina College, located in the 3500 block of South First Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) damaged one of the vehicle's windows and punctured the vehicle's tires.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

03-01-2011     Robbery          400 Block Homer Street

At approximately 10:00 PM on Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that approximately 30 minutes earlier that date two unidentified suspects robbed the complainant in the roadway in the 400 block of Homer Street in Lufkin.  The complainant stated that he was approached by the suspects as he walked along Homer Street, that the suspects demanded the complainant's belongings, and that the suspects removed from the complainant's pockets a wallet, currency, keys, and a mobile telephone.  The complainant described the suspects as black males, one approximately 5'10" tall wearing a white shirt and blue jeans and the other approximately 6'00" tall with dreadlock-style hair wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.  The complainant stated that the suspects fled on-foot to a convenient store at the intersection of Denman Avenue and Timberland Drive, and may have fled the store in a white Honda Civic.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

03-01-2011     Burglary/Vehicle         2500 Block Daniel McCall Drive

On Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 7:00 PM and 7:20 PM that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized the complainant's vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of Walmart, located in the 2500 block of Daniel McCall Drive in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) removed from within the vehicle an automotive speaker box containing a twelve-inch Sony brand speaker.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

03-01-2011     Disturbance/Domestic         1900 Block Hill Street

At approximately 5:30 PM on Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that earlier that date a known suspect assaulted the complainant at a residence located in the 1900 block of Kill Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect, the complainant's girlfriend, punched the complainant's upper body, face, and arms after finding on the complainant's mobile telephone text messages from a male subject.  The report stated that the suspect fled the area prior to the complainant contacting Lufkin Police Department, that the responding officer did not observe visible injuries to the complainant, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.


03-01-2011     Burglary/Habitation         100 Block Butler Street

At approximately 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 1:45 PM that date a known suspect burglarized the complainant's residence, located in the 100 block of Butler Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her thirty-year-old son, who lives at her residence, was assaulted within her residence by his estranged wife.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the suspect's entry into the residence was without the complainant's consent and was with the intent to commit assault, the complainant wished to pursue a charge of Burglary of a Habitation, a second degree felony.  The report stated that the complainant's son did report the assault incident and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

03-01-2011     Theft               500 Block South John Redditt Drive

On Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 1:15 PM and 2:30 PM that date an unidentified actor(s) stole the complainant's laptop computer from the waiting room of Woodland Heights Medical Center, located in the 500 block of South John Redditt Drive in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that she left her Toshiba brand laptop computer in the ICU waiting room while she was away for lunch and when she returned to the waiting room the computer was missing.  The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.

03-01-2011     Arrest             2300 Block East Lufkin Avenue

On Tuesday, March 01, 2011, a Diboll Police Department officer arrested Leanna Jean Busby (White / Female / 30 / Hudson) for an outstanding arrest warrant held by Lufkin Police Department for the Third Degree Felony offense of Fraudulent Use of Identifying Information.  According to the report, the warrant was issued following a Lufkin Police Department Detective's investigation that began September 16, 2010 when a complainant reported that an unidentified actor(s) had fraudulently utilized the complainant's identifying information to obtain a Lowe's charge account and had charged several thousand dollars worth of purchases to the account.  The Detective's investigation revealed that Leanna Jean Busby, an employee of a debt collection company, obtained the complainant's identifying information, utilized that information to obtain the charge account, and utilized the charge account to purchase appliances from Lowe's in Lufkin.  On February 01, 2011, the Detective sought, and a judge issued, a warrant for Ms. Busby's arrest.  On March 01, a Diboll Police Department officer came into contact with Ms. Busby, took her into custody for the outstanding arrest warrant, and delivered her to a Lufkin Police Department officer for booking into Angelina County Jail.
