2nd Harrison Co. student diagnosed with H1N1

MARSHALL, TX (KLTV/KTRE) - A second Harrison County student has reportedly been diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.

According to 5-year-old Ashlyn Craver's mother, Brenda McCowan, Ashlyn was diagnosed with H1N1 on February 24.

Ashlyn is a student at Washington Early Childhood Center in Marshall. Her mother says she is being treated for the virus at Sutton Children's Hospital in Shreveport.

KLTV contacted Ashlyn's doctor, Carl Turner, in Marshall, but he is not able to speak about the child's condition unless he gets a written release from her mother.

This would be the second case of H1N1 reported in the region. The first involved a 13-year-old Elysian Fields student, Trenton Lindsey, who later died at LSU Hospital in Shreveport

Marshall ISD would not comment on the situation.
