LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have arrested an employee of a debt collection company accused of using someone else's identification to purchase thousands of dollars of merchandise.

Leanna Jean Busby, 30, of Hudson, is charged with fraudulent use of identifying information, a third-degree felony.

Diboll Police took Busby into custody on Tuesday and brought her to the Lufkin Police Department. An officer there booked her into the Angelina County Jail.

According to the police report, Lufkin Police began investigating Busby on Sept. 16, when someone reported that someone had used their identifying information to obtain a Lowe's charge account and had charged several thousand dollars worth of purchases to the account.

The investigation revealed Busby, an employee of a debt collection company, obtained the victim's identifying information to get the charge account, and used it to purchase appliances from Lowe's in Lufkin, according to the report.
