LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Lufkin firefighters have responded to a house fire on California Boulevard.
Nobody was hurt.
Chief Danny Kistner said it appears the fire started in the attic of the garage unit and has spread to the rest of the garage.
Dispatchers had called Hudson Volunteer and Nacogdoches firefighters to assist with the fire.
The fire appeared to be contained by 5:50 p.m. The rest of the house only suffered smoke damage.
Homeowner Mike Standerford, 44, said he was pulling into the driveway after getting off from work when he saw the flames at the house.
Firefighters are investigating the cause.
