Police arrest Nacogdoches man in stabbing over money

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) -

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police arrested a Nacogdoches man Sunday afternoon following what authorities say was a stabbing over money.

Dwight Fitzgerald Shears Sr., 40, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony.

According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Oakhill Plaza Drive at 1:15 p.m., where the victim said he was stabbed during an altercation with Shears. he said the fight was over a small amount of money that Shears owed him.

Shears was admitted to a Nacogdoches hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen.
