Main Street sidewalk sale set for March 19

NACOGDOCHES, TX (News Release) –Downtown stores will be participating in the annual Main Street Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, March 19.

The sidewalk sale, which offers a variety of unique finds, great deals, and specialty items, will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is part of the 2011 Nacogdoches Azalea Trail, which continues through the end of the month. "We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a beautiful day of shopping in historic downtown Nacogdoches," says Sarah O'Brien, City of Nacogdoches Main Street Manager.

"You never know what treasure you might find!" New to this year's sidewalk sale will be the free booth rental spaces available around the downtown square. Booth spaces are limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

Vendors can pick up forms at the Visitor Center, 200 E. Main, or download a form at www.nacogdochesazaleas.com. Vendors must register by Friday, March 11th at 5 p.m. Organizers of the event encourage all churches, clubs, organizations, and individuals to participate.

Stop inside the Visitor Center, 200 E. Main, to purchase your raffle tickets for $1 (or six for $5) for a heavy-duty garden cart, which is packed with gardening goodies donated by Flora Garden Club members, Lowe's, Wal-Mart, Cook's Nursery, Sutherlands and Dragonfly Nursery.

The cart includes a soaker hose, Farmer's Market garden container, wild bird food and feeder, blue bird house, trowel, rain gauge, garden loppers, garden spade, kneeling cushion, weed preventer, bottle birdhouse, soft touch cultivator, clipper/limb cutter set, Topsy Turvy tomato kit, tripod sprinkler, sunflower seeds, water wand, potting soil, a sprayer, and gift certificates to Dragonfly Nursery and Cook's Nursery.

The cart is on display at the Visitor Center, 200 E. Main St. You can also make plans to purchase tickets at the Farmer's Market Spring Fling set for Saturday, April 2, 2011.

The drawing will be held Saturday, April 16. Winner does not need to be present to win.
