Lufkin Police arrest 1 in group disturbance

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - One man was arrested after Lufkin Police arrived on the scene to check on a group disturbance Tuesday evening.

Gervenski Mack, 17, is charged with carrying a prohibited weapon.

According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Medford Drive at 5:15 p.m. in reference to a caller who said 15-20 men were fighting. When officers arrived, they reported seeing a group of about 15 men. One of the men ran away between two trailer houses, according to the report.

Officers ran after the man, later identified as Mack, and found a pair of brass knuckles during the pursuit, according to the report. Mack surrendered to the officers and admitted to dropping the knuckles while he was running away.

Knuckles are a prohibited weapon in Texas.

Officers found no evidence of a fight and made no further arrests.
