HUDSON, Texas (KTRE) - Law enforcement officers with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, highway patrol and Hudson Police arrested three people suspected of ties to the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas in a drug bust Thursday morning.
According to sheriff's Sgt. Allen Hill, Thomas Earl Smith, 40, of Lufkin, nicknamed "Tommy Gun," Robin Prater Franklin, 49, of Lufkin, and Aundria Whitehead Barrett, 39, of Bronson, will each be charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing of a controlled substance.
Hill said officers have been conducting surveillance of the trailer house, located on the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive and next door to the Hudson Police Department, for two months after seeing known members of the notorious prison gang going to the residence.
When they conducted the search warrant Thursday morning, Hill said officers discovered two grams of finished methamphetamine and several grams of the liquid variety.
Hill said federal gang-related charges would also likely be filed.
Franklin was a witness in two kidnapping trials last year, when Aryan Brotherhood members Christopher Guffey and Steven Wallace were found guilty of abducting and beating Wallace's girlfriend.
