NACOGDOCHES (KTRE) – A very quiet soft spoken young men Nick McCloud, performance on the track speaks volumes.   McCloud, a junior is the Jack of the Week a speed demon in the 60-meter hurdles.   He is the indoor defending Southland Conference champion, and all SLC athlete.

"You can do anything that you put your mind too and I love my sport you know you are a student first and an athlete second.  Right now I'm trying to get my studies going then when I get out on the track I'm leaving everything on the track, but once I leave here I have to get back to my studies,"  McCloud said.

"When I'm running my mind frame is just try to stay clean and quickness over the hurdle and between the hurdles," McCloud said.

"Ever since I saw him run as a junior in high school I knew that he was a special athlete and sure enough he has shown that qualifying for nationals once again. He works extremely hard and is a leader for this team.  I'm so excited for him and I know that he is going to do great this weekend," Coach Ron McCown said.

McCloud is the only SFA track athlete that qualified for the indoor championships this weekend.  Nick McCloud is your Jack of the Week.
