Nacogdoches mayor faces 2 challengers

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) -

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A three-way race for mayor is among three contested races in the Nacogdoches City Council elections this year.

Incumbent Mayor Roger Van Horn faces challengers Pam Fitch and Walter McCrimmon.

In the northeast ward, incumbent Shelley Brophy faces Billy Huddleston Jr.

In the northwest ward, Brandon E. McKinney, Tom Middlebrook and Bob Dunn will vie for an open seat in the Northwest Ward.

In Lufkin, incumbent Rufus Duncan is running unopposed in Ward 5, while four candidates, Sarah Murray, Darrel McDonald, Daniel Huerta and Steve Hall will run for an open seat in  Ward 6.

City elections will be held May 14.
