NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) – Nacogdoches City Council candidate Tom Middlebrook has pulled his name from the ballot.
Although he had initially filed to run for the Northwest Ward position, Middlebroook, a local doctor, said he's not giving up the idea of running altogether.
"It's possible I will run in the future, but I'm not able to this time because of professional and family obligations," Middlebrook said.
Brandon E. McKinney and Bob Dunn will now go head-to-head for the Northwest Ward spot on the council.
The election is set for Saturday, May 14 on the Thomas J. Rusk Elementary School Campus.
Early voting will begin weekdays May 2-10 at the Nacogdoches Community Center.
