SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A 17-year-old Texas beauty queen who claimed pageant organizers harassed her about her weight before taking her crown has regained the Miss San Antonio title.
However, a top pageant official says she will do nothing to help Domonique Ramirez advance to the Miss Texas and Miss America crowns. A Bexar County jury restored the crown and sash to Ramirez on Thursday after 11½ hours of deliberations.
She had accused pageant organizers of taking the title wrongly from her. Pageant director Linda Woods called the verdict "an injustice for the city of San Antonio" and a bad example to other young people. She added that "there's no way I would represent her as talent. She's trouble."
