Nacogdoches traffic stop yields 106-lb pot bust

BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) -

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A traffic stop in Nacogdoches Thursday morning led to the arrests of three people after police say they uncovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana.

Patricia Gonzalez Cervantes, 31, of Channelview, Robert Marcelino Garcia, 40, of Corpus Christi, and Daniel Lopez Jr., 27, of San Juan, are each charged with possession of marijuana, which is a second-degree felony, due to the amount police say they uncovered.

According to the Nacogdoches Police report, officers conducted the traffic stop in the 3200 block of Northwest Stallings Drive, for the offense of speeding. The trio consented to a search and officers reported to finding 106 pounds of marijuana in a false bed in the truck.
