Police charge 2 Onalaska teens in string of burglaries

ONALASKA, TX (KTRE) -

(Press release) - Two Onalaska men have been jailed and charged in connection with several burglaries committed in the Onalaska area.

According to Detective Christopher Lima with the Polk County Sheriff's Office Efton Fontenot, 18, of Onalaska and Jeffrey Prager, 19, of Onalaska have both been arrested and charged in Connection with three burglaries committed in the Canyon Park and Yaupon Cove Subdivision's.

During the Month of March 2011 the Polk County Sheriff's Office launched a criminal investigation into the theft of several items including a boat motor, four wheeler, dirt bike, moped, bicycles, and several other items of value from different residences  and having a total value of over $10,000.00.

Lima states that a joint effort between the Onalaska Police Department and the Polk County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division have led to the arrest and recovery of the property that was taken during the commission of the crimes.

As of press time both suspects are currently being held in the Polk County Jail.
