(KTRE) Rodney Keels, charged with online solicitation of a minor, is going to prison for violating his probation.
In June of 2010, Keels pleaded guilty to online solicitation of a minor. He thought the girl was a teenager, but in fact it was an undercover agent. He accepted a sentence of 180 days in jail and 10 years probation.
His probation officer told the court in February that he believed Keels, 58, was in violation of his probation and an arrest warrant was issued.
On the witness stand Tuesday, Keels testified that in February he feel into a deep emotional depression and began drinking, which is a violation of his probation.
His probation officer testified that Keels also missed alcohol abuse meetings and sex offender therapy sessions. He recommended Keels' probation be revoked.
