04-05-2011     Arrest             700 Block Southwood Drive

At approximately 7:00 PM on Tuesday April 05, 2011, Lufkin Police Department officers arrested Amber Nicole Humphries (White / Female / 28 / 4938 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin) at Solar Tan, a business located at 703 Southwood Drive in Lufkin, for outstanding arrest warrants and the offense of Escape.  According to the report, a complainant contacted Lufkin Police Department and stated that Amber Humphries was at Solar Tan and was a suspect in a theft incident originally reported to the Department March 29, 2011.  Lufkin Municipal Court and Texas Pardon & Parole Board held outstanding warrants for Ms. Humphries' arrest and she was taken into custody by the responding Lufkin Police Department officer.  The handcuffs placed on Ms. Humphries wrists were loosened after she complained that they were too tight but her complainant was actually preparation for an escape attempt.  When the arresting officer reached into his patrol vehicle, Ms. Humphries slipped one hand from the handcuffs and fled on-foot from the officer.  She ran across Southwood Drive and through the parking lot of Angelina Federal Credit Union, located at 900 Pershing Avenue, but she was apprehended in a vacant lot north of the credit union.  Amber Nicole Humphries was booked into Angelina County Jail for two Lufkin Municipal Court arrest warrants issued February 01, 2011 for the Class C Misdemeanor offenses of Defective Stop Lamps and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, for a Texas Pardon & Parole Board parole violation warrant, and for the offense of Escape.

 04-05-2011     Arrest             1100 Block Ellis Avenue

At approximately 12:20 PM on Tuesday April 05, 2011, Lufkin Police Department officers arrested Adrienne Nicole Calvin (White / Female / 38 / 214 Hughes Road, Lufkin) in the 1100 block of Ellis Avenue for the offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Marijuana.  According to the report, a complainant contacted Lufkin Police Department and stated that a female who was walking along Ellis Avenue appeared to be intoxicated on some type of narcotic.  The responding Lufkin Police Department officers located the suspect, Adrienne Calvin, on Ellis Avenue near Wesch Drive.  When asked by the officers if she possessed any illegal substances, Ms. Calvin stated that she had a controlled substance in her purse but asked the officers not to look for it.  Ms. Calvin eventually handed the officers a cigarette package that contained two plastic bags, one containing a small amount of marijuana and the other containing two pieces of crack cocaine.  Adrienne Nicole Calvin was booked into Angelina County Jail for the offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine, a State Jail Felony, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Marijuana, a Class C Misdemeanor.

04-05-2011     Burglary/Building     2200 Block Homewood Drive

On Tuesday, April 05, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that between 6:30 AM and 9:30 PM that date an unidentified actor(s) burglarized a storage building outside of the complainant's residence, located in the 2200 block of Homewood Drive in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that the actor(s) forced entry into the storage building and removed from within the building a set of Swingers seventeen-inch wire automobile rims and Vogue brand white walls tires with a gold pin stripe.  The report stated that the complainant provided information concerning possible suspects, and that the incident was referred for further investigation.

04-05-2011     Theft               1200 Block South Chestnut Street

At approximately 2:30 PM on Tuesday, April 05, 2011, a complainant reported to Lufkin Police Department that at approximately 2:00 PM that date an unidentified suspect stole the complainant's coin purse from the parking lot of a business located in the 1200 block of South Chestnut Street in Lufkin.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her coin purse fell from her vehicle as she left the business but an unidentified suspect took the purse before the complainant realized it was missing and returned to the business to retrieve it; an employee of the business told the complainant that an unidentified male suspect removed the coin purse from the parking lot. The report stated that the incident was referred for further investigation.
