Lufkin man receives deferred adjudication judgement for drug possession charge

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - (KTRE) – Three years probation and a $600 fine, plus restitution to the DPS Crime Lab is the punishment James Eaves received for possession on a controlled substance (cocaine).

Eaves was arrested in 2009 for having less than one gram of cocaine in his possession. He pled guilty this week in exchange for three years deferred probation, $600 fine, TAPE (Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program), restitution to the DPS Crime Lab and 120 hours community service.

Visiting State District Judge Gerald Goodwin accepted the plea agreement.
