ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Texas Rangers are on quite a roll. After going to their first World Series last year, the Rangers are now the American League's only undefeated team after an impressive opening week at home. They are 6-0 for the first time in 15 years.
On Friday night in Baltimore against former manager Buck Showalter, the Rangers will try to match the team record of seven consecutive wins to start a season.
They have been winning so far with big bats, solid pitching and some spectacular defense.
Manager Ron Washington says he's learned that his team can play baseball any way they have to do it. While he likes that they are averaging seven runs a game, he says the key is consistent pitching and good defense.
