BEAUMONT, TX (News Release) - A drunken Huntsville man leaving a gentleman's club in southern Nacogdoches County had some felony charges slapped on him after some unruly behavior at the county jail, according to the sheriff.
John Thomas Pate, 26, is charged with misdemeanor offenses of public intoxication and failure to identify and felony offenses of harassment by person in correctional facility and retaliation.
According to Sheriff Thomas Kerss, a deputy responded to a homeowner's call around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, in reference to an intoxicated man on his property, located on U.S. 59 South.
Kerss said Pate at first refused to give his identity and the deputy took him into custody. At the Nacogdoches County Jail, Pate made threats against the jail staff and their family members and spit at them, Kerss said.
Pate had just left Baby Doll's, a gentleman's club on the Angelina County line, when he arrived at the property, Kerss said.
