(KTRE) – A different approach for our Jack of the Week feature this week. Sliding over to the other side and catching up with SFA Women's Tennis coach Pat Sullivan. Sullivan has guided the Ladyjacks to a program's best 16-2 start and it's his first season as the head coach.
"Trying to build a tradition here not just one good season you don't build tradition overnight to go from the bottom of conference to being able to finish probably in the top quarter this year is a really great turnaround. We have also beat three teams that SFA hasn't beaten in ten years three conference rivals to us that is really something to be proud of," Sullivan said.
After working as an assistant coach at Arkansas and SMU his time has come to be the head honcho and he relishes the challenge and embraces it every day.
"I really enjoy kind of putting my own imprint on it. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do for a long time and just years toiling for other people just thinking if I had my own chance to do it this is what I would do. So it's finally nice to put that in motion," Sullivan said.
14 matches over the .500 mark with five matches to play before the southland conference championships begin. Pat Sullivan is your jack of the week.
