POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A German national is in jail after Polk County authorities allege he molested a 14-year-old girl over a period of six months.

Wolfgang Lantzsch, 51, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office report, the victim told Lt. Craig Finegan with the Criminal Investigation Division that she had been molested by Lantzsch. A sexual assault exam backed up the claim.

Lantzsch interviewed with detectives on March 23 and admitted to having sex with the girl at least four times within the last six months, according to the report.

The sheriff's office obtained a warrant for Lantzsch's arrest the next day. When deputies went to his residence to arrest him, they discovered he had attempted suicide by overdosing on prescription medication, according to the report.

He was transported to Livingston Memorial Medical Center and then to Lufkin Memorial Health Systems, where he was treated before being released on Wednesday. Lufkin Police arrested Lantzsch and booked him into the Angelina County Jail. He was then transported to the Polk County Jail, where he is being held on a $100,000 bond and on an INS warrant.
