LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Anyone who lives in or drives through Lufkin is well familiar with the rig that sits on poles high in the air on the northeast side of Lufkin. But for about a month now, that big truck has been missing.
Until today. Workers used three cranes and a ladder truck to put the Peterbilt rig back on its stilts. Now, the 15,000-pound truck has a new paint job.
The rig has been sitting 65 feet in the air for nearly 20 years.
The truck is part of a huge sign for Rush Truck Center, a dealership for new and used heavy- and medium-duty trucks.
