DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) -

Diboll Police have arrested a Diboll man following an undercover operation which began last year.

Phillip Wayne Armstead, 52, is charged with four counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

Det. Norman Williams said he and Det. Brandan Lovell began investigating Armstead in 2010 and had undercover informants buy crack cocaine from him on four different occasions.

Officers Ray Anthony and Matt Reppond waited at Armstead's residence in an unmarked vehicle on Tuesday. When Armstead left the house, the officers conducted a traffic stop with him and arrested him on the four warrants, at 9:14 p.m.

Diboll Police kept him in a cell Tuesday night and transferred him to the Angelina County Jail on Wednesday.
