LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Polk County sheriff's deputies have transferred Lufkin radio stations owner Stephen Yates to the Polk County Jail, where he will remain at least until he appears before a judge on April 25.

Yates, 52, is accused of violating his probation for a 2007 driving while intoxicated conviction by operating a vehicle which was not furnished with a breathalyzer.

Yates was booked in the Polk County Jail on Sunday.

District Judge Elizabeth Coker will hear the state's motion to revoke Yates' probation on April 25. If Coker grants the motion, Yates could eventually be sent to state prison.

Yates owns Yates Broadcasting, which transmits five stations over the air from its downtown Lufkin location.

Lufkin Police arrested Yates on Thursday on the Polk County warrant.
