NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Sheriff's Office arrested a Nacogdoches man Tuesday night after he allegedly injured his 11-year-old stepson by shaking his bunk bed.

Jackie Roy Williams, 35, is charged with injury to a child, a state-jail felony.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Lambert Road in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived, they met up with Williams' wife, who said he had run into the woods when he saw them driving down the road. She said Williams had been drinking heavily and became verbally and physically abusive to her 11-year-old son.

Deputies found Williams in the woods and placed him under arrest.

The arrest report states deputies believe Williams injured his stepson by shaking the bed he was on and striking the child's head, back and right arm between the bed and the wall. While on the way to the jail, the report states Williams said he was trying to "shake some sense into the kid."
