Nacogdoches murder suspect attends final hearing before trial

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - One of the men suspected in the stabbing death of a Nacogdoches man in October attended his final pre-trial hearing on Thursday.

Nathan Welsh is charged with murder in the death of Thomas Wayne Grimes, 49.

Welsh's attorney, John Boundy, requested District Judge Campbell Cox have the district attorney's office turn over discovery evidence, which the judge obliged.

Welsh's trial is scheduled for May 16.
