NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Nacogdoches County Sheriff's deputy arrested a mom and daughter duo Wednesday night after he said he found the daughter hiding in a closet.

The mother, Carrol Wingate Collins, 62, of Nacogdoches is charged with hindering apprehension, a third-degree felony. Her daughter, Laura Ann Collins, 41, of Nacogdoches, was arrested on outstanding warrants for bail jumping, two warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, two warrants for possession of a dangerous drug, and driving with an invalid license.

According to the report, Deputy Ben Curtis arrived at a home in the 4000 block of County Road 331 to serve the warrants to Laura Collins, but the elder Collins answered the door. The mother told Curtis she was aware that she had outstanding warrants, but that she was not home at the time, according to the report. Carrol Collins allowed Curtis in the house to search.

Collins said he found the daughter in a closet in a spare room, hiding under several pillows.

Curtis arrested both women.
