NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - There were hundreds of egg hunts across East Texas. So what's the Easter bunny's trick in making them all? He arrives by helicopter. At least that's how he got to the Great Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Fredonia Hill Baptist Church in Nacogdoches. He dropped 10,000 Easter eggs from the chopper. That was in addition to the 5,000 eggs already on the ground.
And can you believe it? There wasn't enough.
Hundreds of children, running from the same location, swept them up as soon as the chopper got into a safe zone.
Empty Easter baskets created sad faces. "There are no more eggs," said one little girl. The children lost their place in line when police ordered them away from the chopper. It was so windy. They didn't want any mishaps.
In an effort to make everyone happy, the Easter bunny made a second sweep over the park, dropping even more Easter eggs.
