(KTRE) - Hearing very loud music playing inside a car caused Nacogdoches police to conduct a traffic stop for a violation of a city ordinance.  By calling attention to their vehicle, other alleged illegal activity was discovered.

According to Officer Chasen Partin with NPD, the officers found two bags of marijuana and a pistol inside the car.  Karlton Runner and Carl Albro were both arrested at the scene for possession of marijuana.

Runner was also arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon.  Partin says just having a gun in the car is not illegal.  However, if you are charged with anything above a class C misdemeanor, and a gun is found, then it is illegal to have a weapon with you in the car.
